I’ve had an under-active thyroid for 20 years and as a result I’ve been trying to lose weight for quite some time.  I've tried lots of different diets, including the grapefruit diet (more like starvation diet), cabbage diet (rather smelly diet) and lastly joined a well-known slimming club where I watched as my two friends lost 3 stone and 18 pounds respectively, I  however manage to lose 7 pounds in the same time (even though I’d followed the plan strictly), which was galling and very depressing. I then decided to take the exercise approach and I worked out solidly for 18 months without losing weight, (much to my Trainer’s frustration), in fact I actually gained weight (muscle ratio to fat apparently, dress size stayed the same though so not sure how that one works!!)

I felt like I’d done and tried everything and got nowhere. I actually realised it didn't matter how many diets I followed, I would always struggle with my weight, due to overeating and enjoying the naughty foods!!! (and my underactive thyroid). This was a depressing thought because I really didn't want to be on a diet for the rest of my life, food combining, etc, bingeing on certain foods because I knew they were "forbidden". I then had a mini brainwave (wish this had happened years ago, but never mind better late than never) that I actually need to change my attitude towards food in my head, and that is when  I started looking into hypnotherapy and also the fact that my 40th birthday was fast approaching and I really didn't want to be fat and forty.

I found Sarah on the internet and after our initial consultation realised that this could actually be the answer to my weight issues.  Still not fully convinced that it would work for me though, Sarah became my guilty secret (I only told partner and daughter) just in case it failed, after all I had been trying to lose weight for half my life.

From the first session my attitude to food changed: I completely stopped eating anything sweet (chocolate, sweets, biscuits, cakes etc.). Now, I would normally eat something sweet every day so this alone was a small miracle and I also noticed that I had actually started giving myself smaller portions of food without even thinking about it.   No food was banned so I could eat whatever I wanted, but I realised that I was drawn towards healthy foods - don't get me wrong I still eat takeaways but even these are smaller portion sizes and I still enjoy my wine at weekends. I've also noticed that I’m feeling calmer and more confident in myself even when people around me are ‘challenging’.

In 6 weeks I shed 12 pounds and it was effortless.  I even had an all-inclusive holiday and found myself still eating healthily because as I told Sarah “I feel this is part of my life now”. I really can't emphasise how much Sarah has changed my life and how grateful I am to her, and I know I have waffled on a bit, but I really wanted you to know my journey, I am now 4 pounds away from my target weight and have never been happier and yes I have now told all my friends as they were all saying how fab I look and asking how I had lost the weight.

If you’ve tried to lose weight but things keep stopping you then I really suggest that you try Sarah’s programme.  It worked for me! Ms Wardell

 

Before the session I was unaware of hypnosis - I thought that the therapist clicked their fingers and you fell asleep!  I found that Sarah addressed my weight issues and understood how it was affecting me. I was a little sceptical that this form of treatment would work, but having been on and off diets for years and finding myself becoming easily bored and disenchanted, I was willing to give it a go, It wasn’t at all what I expected.
